Tube Lock Function and Maintenance in Barrier Motor Systems

The tube lock is a component that is screwed into the motor tube, connecting it to the threaded rod. As the threaded rod rotates, it raises or lowers the barrier arm. This connection is essential for smooth mechanical movement and proper functioning of the barrier mechanism.

To ensure optimal performance, the joint between the tube lock and the threaded rod is lubricated with lithium grease. In this case, the recommended product is LIPEKS S EP2, a lithium-based grease designed for lubricating various types of rolling and sliding bearings, joints, guides, and other machine components. This lubricant maintains its properties within a wide temperature range, from –30°C to +140°C, ensuring reliable operation even in demanding environmental conditions.

If the motor begins to stall, operate unevenly, or fails to function correctly at low temperatures, it is possible that the inside of the tube lock lacks sufficient lithium grease. In such cases, additional lubrication should be applied, followed by a performance test of the barrier to confirm smooth operation.
