Tube Lock Function and Maintenance in Barrier Motor Systems
The tube lock is a component that is screwed into the motor tube and connected to the threaded rod. As the threaded rod rotates, it raises or lowers the Barrier arm. This connection is essential for smooth mechanical movement and the proper functioning of the Barrier mechanism.
To ensure optimal performance, the joint between the tube lock and the threaded rod is lubricated with lithium grease. The recommended product is LIPEKS S EP2, a lithium-based grease designed for lubricating various types of rolling and sliding bearings, joints, guides, and other machine components. This lubricant retains its properties across a wide temperature range, from –30°C to +140°C, ensuring reliable operation even in demanding environmental conditions.
If the motor begins to stall, operate unevenly, or fails to function properly at low temperatures, it may indicate that there is not enough lithium grease inside the tube lock. In such cases, additional lubrication should be applied, followed by a performance test to confirm smooth Barrier operation.
