Chain Power Outputs: Understanding the Details
Chain control boards come equipped with two distinct power outputs, each designed for specific components in your system. Understanding their specifications ensures proper operation and safe integration of devices.
Output 1 & 2: Flashing Light and 24Vac Power
- Purpose: These outputs are primarily used to power flashing lights.
- Specifications:
- Voltage: 24Vac
- Maximum Power: 25W
- Maximum Current Draw: 1A (Calculated as 25W24V=1A\frac{25W}{24V} = 1A24V25W=1A)
Ensure that any connected device does not exceed these limits to maintain system reliability.
Output 3 & 4: 24Vcc for Photocells
- Purpose: Outputs 3 and 4 are used mainly for powering photocells.
- Specifications:
- Voltage: 24Vcc
- Maximum Current Draw: 200mA (or 0.2A)
Photocell Power Consumption
Photocells draw different amounts of current depending on their operational state:
- Inactive State (Beam Not Interrupted):
- Active State (Beam Interrupted):
These values are well within the 200mA limit of Outputs 3 & 4, ensuring safe operation when multiple photocells are used.
Understanding the power output capabilities of Chain control boards is essential for optimal system performance. Adhering to the specified limits for each output will prevent overloading and ensure reliable operation of your connected devices.
