This article provides technical instructions for configuring the integrated LED upper cover light on heavy-duty barrier models with boom lengths of 6–8 meters. These lights serve as a critical safety interface, providing real-time status feedback to users and operators.
The integrated LED light on the upper cover is designed to mitigate risks associated with long-span booms through three primary functions:
Positional Awareness: High-intensity visibility for the gate structure during night hours.
Active Maneuver Feedback: Visual confirmation that an "Open" or "Close" command is currently being executed.
Pre-Movement Alert: Warning signals to alert pedestrians and drivers that the boom is about to initiate movement.
Programming is handled via the control logic board. Use the following parameters to customize the LED behavior based on the specific safety requirements of your installation site.
This parameter defines the rhythm and speed of the LED pulses.
| Code | Setting Description | Operational Logic |
| 78 00 | Electronic Control | Frequency is managed automatically by the flashing light unit's internal circuitry. |
| 78 01 | Proximity Slow-Down | Light flashes at a standard rate during mid-travel, but switches to a lower frequency as the boom approaches mechanical stops. |
| 78 02 | Directional Speed | Slow flash during the opening cycle; Rapid flash during the closing cycle to indicate increased caution. |
This parameter introduces a "dwell time" where the light activates before the motor engages. This is highly recommended for 6-8m booms due to their larger swing radius.
A5 00 (Disabled): The light and motor activate simultaneously.
A5 01–10 (Programmable Delay): Sets a warning period from 1 to 10 seconds. The LED will flash for the duration of the set value before the boom begins moving (applies to both opening and closing).
A5 99 (Closing Priority): A fixed 5-second warning flash that occurs only prior to the closing maneuver. Opening maneuvers will remain instantaneous.
[!IMPORTANT]
Because 6–8 meter booms have a significant "sweep" area, we recommend the following configuration for maximum site safety:
Set Parameter 78 to
02: This provides an intuitive "fast = closing" warning to approaching vehicles.Set Parameter A5 to at least
03: A 3-second buffer allows pedestrians near the tip of the 8m boom sufficient time to step back before movement begins.
