Signal Issues Between Gateway and Barrier

Signal Issues Between Gateway and Barrier

Signal Requirements Recap:

  • The signal should be at least -80 dBm when no car is over the barrier
  • Signal strength can be checked in Parklio PMS by hovering over the signal icon in the Dashboard

Additional Steps to Improve Signal:

  1. Relocate the Gateway – move it closer to the barrier . The Gateway supports pole mount diameters of ∅60 mm – ∅125 mm , so consider mounting it on a closer pole or wall.
  2. Gateway Specifications to Keep in Mind:
    • Max supported devices: 20 Parklio BLE devices per Gateway
    • Wireless connectivity: BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy)
    • The Gateway uses internal BT antennas , so its positioning is critical
  3. Reboot the Gateway – Try rebooting via Parklio PMS under System Control and then recheck the signal.
  4. Check for Obstacles – Ensure there are no walls, metal structures, or large objects between the Gateway and barrier.

To ensure that the Gateway functions properly, it must be installed in the best possible location relative to the products it will manage.

The Gateway’s position is important because signal strength and coverage directly affect communication with connected devices across the parking area.

If the client is unsure whether the selected installation point provides sufficient signal coverage, they should send the parking layout and photos of the site for review.

  • If the project is still in the purchasing phase, the documentation should be sent to the Sales team.

  • If the Gateway has already been delivered or installed, the documentation should be sent to the Support team.

Reviewing the layout and site photos helps determine whether the planned Gateway position will provide reliable coverage and proper system performance.
