Gate X Solar Automatically Open When Batteries Run Low?

There is a built-in setting that allows a solar-powered gate to open automatically when the inverter’s batteries are nearly empty. The answer is yes—at least for systems like the Parklio Gate X, which includes specific configurable parameters for this scenario.

Automatic Opening on Low Battery

The Parklio Gate X system provides two settings that can be adjusted to trigger automatic gate opening when battery voltage drops below a certain threshold. This feature is particularly useful in solar installations, where maintaining access is more important than keeping the gate closed during low power conditions.

Key Settings Explained

  • Setting 85 → Value 01
When this setting is enabled, the gate will receive an open command as soon as the battery voltage drops below 22V. This ensures immediate response to low battery levels.
  • Setting 86 → Value 02
This setting adds a delay condition. If the battery voltage remains below 22V for more than 30 seconds, the gate will automatically open. Once opened, it will remain open until the battery voltage rises above 22V again.

Why This Matters

In solar-powered gate systems, battery levels can fluctuate depending on sunlight and usage. These settings help prevent situations where the gate might become stuck closed due to insufficient power—ensuring continuous access when it’s needed most.
